Terms and Conditions

I always adhere to the highest standards of hygiene, both personally and in terms of the makeup tools I use, and if you would like any further information about the protocols I use, please contact me for further information.

The Client: The recipient of the service
The Company: Nicola Bird Makeup Artist
The Agreement: The agreement between the Client and the Company, confirmed by email, for provision of the service
The Fee: The amount payable by the Client to the Company for the service in the Agreement

Bookings are either secured by receipt of a booking fee, the amount of which varies on the service and can be found on the appropriate webpage for the service, or by paying the full price for the service via the appropriate webpage. Receipt of a booking fee or full payment confirms the Agreement and secures The Company’s service on the agreed date and time for the agreed Fee.
Enquiries for which neither a booking fee nor full payment have been paid are not confirmed and therefore provision of the service cannot be guaranteed, and an Agreement is not formally in place.
Booking fees are non-refundable and full payments are non-refundable if a cancellation is received less than 12 weeks before the service is due to commence.

Cancellations of bookings are only deemed valid if received via email to
The Fee is always either agreed via email or stated on the appropriate webpage. Verbal agreements are not offered as they are not deemed valid by The Company.

The Company reserves the right to cancel special offers and rates at any time, with the exception of where an emailed Agreement is already in place with the Client.

Invoices for booking fees or service fees are sent from the Company to the Client via email as soon as possible after a booking has been confirmed via email.
Invoices for the balance of the Fee are sent from the Company to the Client up to 4 weeks before the start date of the service, unless the service is in less than 4 weeks’ time in which case it will be sent immediately after the booking has been confirmed via email.
Full payment of the balance of the Fee is required 1 week before the service at the latest, if the service is less than 4 weeks away, full payment is required to secure the booking.
Payment is accepted via bank transfer.

For booking fee payments, the booking is only confirmed once the bank transfer has cleared in the Company’s bank account.

Travel expenses are incurred for services booked 5-mile road distance from The Artists home. Where travel expenses are incurred within the mainland UK they are at a rate of 50p for every mile outside a 5mile road distance from Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire and are based on the return journey.

Where travel expenses are incurred for travel by car and the service is to be provided a Congestion Charge Zone, at times when the Charge is in operation, the associated fee will be added to the total Fee.
Distances are calculated using an online journey planner.

If required, alternative methods of transport other than motor vehicles, such as rail or flight will be discussed and agreed with the Client during the booking process.

The Company cannot be held liable for any condition that arises or loss incurred by the Client if the Client has not informed the Company of any known conditions as stated above, or of any conditions unknown to the Client at the time of the service.

The Company reserves the right to cancel the Agreement if the behaviour of the Client is deemed inappropriate and/or if the Client reports a condition that the Company deem as a risk to the Client’s health and well-being. In these cases, any payments that have already been made by the Client are non-refundable.

Due to Health and Hygiene guidelines, at no time is anyone permitted to borrow or touch the Makeup Artists Kit. If any loss or damage is made to the kit of The Artist or any member of the team, then or tools as they are not being supervised, The Artist or any members of the team cannot be held responsible. It is the responsibility of the client to replace that item.
Due to issues of Health & Safety it is respectfully asked that Children be supervised at all times. Children must be supervised by someone who is not having a service done at the time. If at all possible it is requested that the room where Makeup is taking place be kept child free (under 3) due to the expensive products we use.

The Company will always endeavour to honour the Agreement to the best of its ability.
There may be circumstances beyond control of The Company if The Artist is unwell, delayed or otherwise unavailable, sometimes at short notice. In such a case the Company will inform the Client at its earliest convenience and endeavour to make favourable alternative arrangements if possible.

The Company reserves the right to offer the Client compensation in the event that it is not able to honour the Agreement. This is entirely dependent on the circumstances and will be discussed openly and honestly with the Client.
